GC Marshall
GC Marshall are an interesting bunch. They approach problems in completely different ways. A combination of expertise and lateral thinking. So when they asked us for a ‘leave behind’, we knew we had to do something different.

The riddles in the book demonstrate the ability to think in a flexible way, a core feature of the approach practicde by GCMarshall.

Answer to the teacup riddle
50p. For the first drink press the button labelled "Random". We know it isn't really the "Random" button, so if it dispenses tea it is the "Tea" button and if it dispenses coffee it is the "Coffee" button. From here it's easy to work out the other buttons knowing that they can't be what they say they are. The only trouble is, you might have to spend 50p more to get the nice hot drink you fancied in the first place.
Answer to the rowboat riddle
First the two women cross the river together. That takes five minutes. Then the speedier of the two returns – so that's 10 minutes so far. Now the two men cross the river (+25 minutes = 35 in total) and the slower woman (not slow in a bad way, she's just careful) returns with the boat (now 45 minutes are gone). Finally, the faster woman rows them both across to meet the chaps. That's another five minutes – and they've all made it in well under an hour.
